Mango Sambar

Ingredients:

  • Raw green Mango 1 meduim size
  • Dal:
    • Mysore dal 1/4 cup
    • Moong dal 1/4 cup
    • Toor dal 1/4 cup
  • Veggies:
    • Round slices Carrot 1
    • Beans
    • Potato cubes 1
    • Tomato 1
    • Brinjal 2
    • Okra 4, 5
    • Onion 1 medium size
  • Spices
    • Red chili  powder 1/2 tsp
    • Sambar Powder 1 tbsp
    • Garam masala Powder pinch
    • Salt as per taste
  • Tadka:
    • Oil
    • Mustard seeds
    • Cumin seeds
    • Curry leaves
    • Dry red chilies

Procedure:

  • Soak the dals for 5, 10 mins
  • Then, wash, add enough water and pressure cook them.

  • Now,  take a medium vessel, add 2 tbsp of oil and veggies along with little salt, then keep the lid and let the veggies cook until get tender.

  • Add brinjal, okra

  • Add all spices including the salt.

  •  Combine well.
  • In a mean while,  grand the raw mango.

  • Add raw mango puree and very little water.

  • Let it boil for 5 mins.

  • Then, add cooked mixed dal.
  • Add 1 1/2 Rice cup of water

  • Let it boil for another 8, 10 mins.

 

  • finally, Add cilantro and tadka.

  • Mango sambar is ready to serve.
  • Enjoy with steamed rice.
